Professional Background

Professor Orlando Hinojosa is a bilingual speech-language pathologist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program at St. Bonaventure University. He also practices clinically and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of adults with swallowing, voice, and upper airway disorders, with particular expertise in dysphagia, head and neck cancer, and Parkinson’s disease.

He has worked in outpatient, acute care, and inpatient rehabilitation settings and regularly performs instrumental swallowing evaluations, including videofluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS) and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES). He is a Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S), a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), and a PhD student in Health Sciences.

He is passionate about teaching through real-world case studies, active learning, and technology-enhanced instruction. He is also committed to helping students become thoughtful, compassionate clinicians.
